STEAL: Science Teacher Education, Application and Leadership

Director of Technology, Mr. Christopher Ferry, just completed a three-day STEAL training in collaboration with five Neshannock Memorial Elementary School teachers.  STEAL — Science Teacher Education, Application and Leadership — was offered by the Delaware County Intermediate Union and the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV.  This state-of-the-art program fosters inquiry-based learning strategies and enhances the instructional strategies of using processing skills across the curriculum in Grades K-12.
Both Mr. Ferry and the NMS teachers — Mrs. Shannon Burick, Mrs. Laura Conti, Mrs. Heather Eagleton, Mrs. Alicia Measel, and Mrs. Chelsea Phillian —  found it to be an incredibly worthwhile learning experience, and would like to extend their appreciation to the MIU IV coach, Mrs. Diane McGaffic.  Mrs. McGaffic will be continuing to follow up with our faculty members through the use of in-school observations and additional collaboration.  We cannot wait to see the STEAL strategies in action!
