Neshannock Township School District has cause for celebration!  Over the last week, our student athletes have brought home not one, but TWO WPIAL Championship Titles!  

Girls Varsity Basketball

Our Lady Lancers have defeated the Shady Side Academy Indians (47-42) becoming the Class 3A WPIAL CHAMPIONS on Saturday, March 2, 2019!  These athletes played their hearts out and we could not possibly be prouder!

The victory also marks Coach Luanne Grybowski’s 653rd career win!  Congratulations, Coach G and Lady Lancers!

The Lady Lancers will continue on the road to the PIAA Championship in the first round of the PIAA 3A playoffs this Friday, March 8th.  They will take on the Tyrone Lady Eagles, at 6:00pm, at North Allegheny High School.

Swimming

NHS Sophomore Conner McBeth is the 2019 WPIAL AA 50 Freestyle Champion.  Swimming WPIALS were held at Trees Pool, University of Pittsburgh. He dropped .58 seconds clocking in at a new personal best time of 21.26. This is Conner’s second consecutive 50 Free Gold medal Championship win. Conner also swam to a second place finish in the 100 Freestyle with another personal best time of 45.80 dropping 1.97 seconds.

With his first place win, Conner is automatically entered in the 50 Free Pennsylvania State PIAA competition to be held at Bucknell University on March 12-14, 2019. Conner will be seeded in to the 100 Free upon the conclusion of all districts championships taking place this weekend.  Congratulations, Conner!

NHS Junior Liam McGann also competed in the 2019 WPIALS in the 100 backstroke finishing in 9th place with a new personal best time of 56.56.  Congratulations on a TOP TEN finish, Liam!

Diving

As the lone competitor for Neshannock High School, Sophomore Katie Walzer took ninth at WPIAL Class 2A finals. Congratulations on a TOP TEN finish, Katie!
