NTSD Seeks American Host Families

Are you passionate about sharing American culture with international students?  Have you always been interested in – or even just a little curious about – international cultures? 

Neshannock Township School District is thrilled to be hosting two international students for the 2019-2020 academic year.  A male sophomore and female senior, both from Vietnam, will soon be enjoying life as Neshannock Lancers through the American Scholar Group!  Both students have completed a rigorous application process and passed an English language proficiency test in order to qualify for this program.

The American Scholar Group (ASG) is seeking local families interested in hosting our international students for the 2019-2020 academic year through the American Scholar Homestay Advantage program.  International students will attend Neshannock High School while living with the host families throughout the school year.

Host Family Benefits:

  • Receive a monthly stipend ($6,000 per host-student/per academic year)
  • Learn about international cultures
  • Share American culture and family traditions
  • Form lasting friendships and memories

Host Family Expectations:

  • A welcoming and warm home life for your host student(s)
  • A room and living space for your host student(s)
  • Daily home meals and transportation for host student(s)*
  • Daily support and care

*NTSD will provide transportation to and from campus for international students residing in or within 10 miles of Neshannock Township.  International students may eat breakfast and lunch in the high school cafeteria.  Dinners and snacks will need to be provided by the host families.
