Response to National TikTok Trend

Neshannock Township School District is aware of an emerging TikTok trend promoting the threat of violence in schools on Friday, December 17.  No threats have been made to Neshannock Junior-Senior High School or Neshannock Memorial Elementary School.  Out of an abundance of caution, we will have additional security personnel on campus tomorrow (12.17.2021).  Additionally, Neshannock Township Police Department will be present on campus.

Please use this as an opportunity to continue to have thoughtful conversations with your children about personal safety, the potential consequences of participating in such “trends,” and the imperative nature of reporting concerns as they see them or hear about them.  Students and/or parents not comfortable contacting the District directly to report a concern are encouraged to use the Safe2Say Something anonymous reporting system.

Safe2Say Something is an anonymous reporting system used by Pennsylvania’s 500 school districts in coordination with local law enforcement and the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General.

Safe2Say Something teaches middle and high school youth – and the adults around them – how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and “Say Something” to a trusted adult, call 911 or use the Safe2Say Something anonymous reporting system.

Three ways to submit an anonymous tip:

  • Call the tip line:  1-844-SAF2SAY (1-844-723-2729)
  • Use the Safe2Say Website
  • Use the mobile app available for Apple and Android devices
