NTSD Celebrates the New School Year

School Starts on Monday, August 29!  Click here for Back to School information.

Neshannock Township School District welcomed all faculty and staff back to school with a celebratory picnic on Monday afternoon.  We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Neshannock Township Board of Supervisors – Leslie Bucci, Joe Gierlach, and Steve Demofonte – for welcoming us as we hosted this event at Pearson Park.

It was wonderful to listen to colleagues share in lighthearted conversations about the adventures of summer vacation and plans for the new school year.   Our administrative team – Dr. Meehan, Mr. DiMuccio, Mrs. Flannery, Mrs. Norris, Mr. Ulam, Mr. Heasley, Mrs. Measel, and Mr. Passarelli – donned their Lancer aprons and greeted every member of the faculty and staff as they served the meal.  In addition to the friendship and delicious food, all in attendance were entertained by the talented Lancer Marching Band and Lancerettes!

After formally welcoming everyone back to school, Dr. Meehan handed the microphone over to Mr. Heasley and Mr. Passarelli to honor five members of the faculty — Mrs. Laura Conti, Mr. Mark Daugherty, Mrs. Jennifer Joy, Mrs. Jeanne Pursel, and Mrs. Susan Zaenger — who have been teaching within the District for 25 years.  Congratulations, Laura, Mark, Jen, Jeanne, and Sue!

Mrs. Measel and Mrs. Norris joined Mr. Heasley and Mr. Passarelli in welcoming NTSD’s newest faculty and staff members to the Lancer Family:

  • Mr. Matthew DeLorenzo – Social Studies Department
  • Mrs. Lara Johns – Math Department (Joined NTSD in December 2021)
  • Mrs. Diana Kulbacki – Speech and Language
  • Miss Taylor Rand – Special Education Department
  • Miss Alexandria Ridderhoff – English Department
  • Mrs. Desirea Watterson – Kindergarten Long-term Substitute
  • Mr. Mike Zeigler – Math Department
  • Mrs. Jocelyn Latta – Paraprofessional
  • Mr. David Fanno – Maintenance
  • Mr. Shane Staransky – Transportation

Congratulations to all!

Of course, it is not all play and no work this time of year.  Teachers have been busy preparing their classrooms and curriculum in between attending various training sessions on library services, new technology, safety and security, health and wellness, standards, and more!

Neshannock Township School District Board of School Directors and Administrators proudly welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year!
