Dear Lancer Community,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Neshannock Township School District. The District prides itself on academic excellence and a comprehensive activities program. This has been validated through years of successful experiences of our many distinguished alumni.

In response to COVID-19, we are offering a variety of learning options for our students.  Elementary students have the option of in-person instruction or virtual instruction, while junior-senior high school students have the option of hybrid instruction (combination of in-person and virtual), virtual instruction, or full-time cyber instruction.  It will certainly be a different approach to learning and instruction; however, with cooperation, patience, and ongoing communication between home and school, we can make this a quality experience for all involved.

This year we will be graduating the Class of 2021 and welcoming the Class of 2033 into our Kindergarten program. Our teachers work very hard to plan a well-developed curriculum that is aligned from grade-to-grade and subject-to-subject. We are committed to making certain that every student has a memorable year filled with positive academic and social growth.

We continue to integrate new instructional technology at all grade levels. Our wireless campus-wide network infrastructure is a tremendous asset to the District. We provide a Chromebook for instructional use to all students in Grades K-12. While the technology advancements are critical and certainly part of our focus, there is no better resource than effective teaching. Our teachers attend regular, on-going staff development programs to remain current in advanced approaches to instruction and learning. Our teacher in-service schedule has been developed to provide time for teachers to truly reach deeper into each initiative that we present.

Neshannock Township School District continues to excel in academic achievement.  We are working hard to ensure this continues through our necessary modifications this year.  This does not occur without great intervention from the parents and families at home.  Please work closely with the teachers to be involved in your child’s continued academic success.  We certainly recognize and embrace the partnership between home and school.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for additional information or to schedule a tour of the District. It truly is a great time to be a Lancer!

Sincerely,

Dr. Terence P. Meehan
