Food 4 Kids Backpack Program

The Neshannock Food4KIDS Backpack Program will begin the distribution of weekend backpacks of food for students in need. The concept of Food4KIDS is built around the awareness that children need to have balanced, nutritious food in order to learn and grow. This program is funded with donations from the Lawrence County Coalition, First Baptist Church on Maitland Lane, and Neshannock Township School District.

The bags of nonperishable food will be provided free of charge and distributed confidentially to your child’s backpack on the last day of school before the weekend or a break. This program is available to elementary and high school students. If you allow your child to receive a bag of food that is child-friendly, nutritious, nonperishable, and easy to prepare/eat, please complete the parent permission below and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher or the school nurse. Each Food4KIDS backpack offers enough food that children can easily assemble into six healthy meals over the weekend.

We will continue the program throughout the school year unless otherwise informed. If at some point, your circumstances change and you are no longer in need of the program, please notify us so that we can provide this program to other families.

Please direct any questions to Mrs. Concetta Fiorante, Director of Pupil Services, at cfiorante@ntsd.org or 724-658-4793.
