All students — regardless of free and reduced status — are now eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch until December 31, 2020 or until funding is no longer available. This service extends to all children ages 18 and under; therefore, students with younger siblings at home are welcome to take a packaged breakfast and lunch home each day.
The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture recently announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will extend several flexibilities for school meals throughout the remainder of 2020. The USDA stated, “As our nation reopens and people return to work, it remains critical our children continue to receive safe, healthy, and nutritious food.”
How Does it Work?
- In-Person Elementary Students:
Students wishing to take breakfast and lunch home to children 18 and under need to let their homeroom teachers know each morning. The teacher will then submit the request to the cafeteria. The meals will be delivered to the homerooms at the end of each school day. - Virtual Elementary Students:
Students/families wishing to receive breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under may request delivery by calling 724-714-1261 or 724-654-2650 by 10:00 am Monday-Friday. Please let Mrs. DeCarlo how many meals you need. - Hybrid Jr./Sr. High Students:
Students/families wishing to receive breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under may do so each day. The Jr./Sr. High student should plan to stop by the cafeteria to pick up the take home meals at the end of each in-person instruction day. - Virtual Jr./Sr. High Students:
Students/families wishing to receive breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under may request delivery by calling 724-714-1261 or 724-654-2650 by 10:00 am Monday-Friday. Please let Mrs. DeCarlo how many meals you need.
