January 25 – Flexible Instruction Day

Due to the anticipated severe winter weather, Neshannock Township School District will operate by using a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.  Students are not to report to the building.  Students are to report virtually via their designated online platform — Schoology or Google Classroom (PreK-6).  Please see below for complete details.  Any questions should be directed to your child’s teacher(s).

Flexible Instruction Day

A Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is a program available to public school entities to be used as an alternative approach to delivering instruction if a circumstance arises that prevents instruction in the customary manner. In accordance with 24 P.S. § 15-1506, FID may be used in place of in-person instruction for any one of the following reasons: a disease epidemic, a hazardous weather condition, a law enforcement emergency, the inoperability of school buses or other equipment necessary to the public-school entity’s operation, damage to school buildings, or another temporary circumstance rendering any portion of a school building unfit or unsafe for use.

Neshannock Township School District may use up to five (5) Flexible Instruction Days per school year.  Parents, guardians, and students may also hear District personnel refer to Flexible Instruction Days as “full virtual days” since we utilize our online learning platforms — Schoology (7-12) and Google Classroom (PreK-6) — on these days.  Any Flexible Instruction Days will always be announced through our SchoolMessenger system, as well as our website.

In the event of a Flexible Instruction Day, in-person students will follow the virtual schedules posted below.  Parents, guardians, and/or students with any questions are encouraged to reach out to their teachers – Staff Directory.
