June 5 – Parking and Dismissal Procedures

Neshannock Township School District is proud to be hosting the first round of the PIAA Class A and Class 2A softball playoff games on our campus this Monday, June 5.  Both our Neshannock Lancers and Lawrence County neighbors, the Union Scotties, will be competing in their respective classes.  The Union Scotties will take on Berlin Brothersvalley at 2:00 pm, and our Neshannock Lancers will take on Penns Valley at 4:30 pm.

Due to the timing of these games and anticipated crowd, we are adjusting our parking and dismissal procedures to ensure the continued safety of our students and campus visitors.   Please carefully review the details and images below to see how these changes may impact you.  As with any change in routine, we will do our very best, but we anticipate that there may be some delays.  If someone other than you picks up your child(ren) from school, please be sure to share this information with them.  Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

We will return to our regular parking and dismissal procedures on Tuesday, June 6.

Junior-Senior High Staff and Students:

The lower parking lot in front of the high school will be utilized for elementary dismissal/pickup.  Any students or staff who typically park in the lower lot are to park their vehicles in the back of the school.  Staff may utilize the spaces directly behind the building.  Student drivers may utilize the stadium parking lot. Seniors attending breakfast and Commencement rehearsal may park in the lower front lot since they will be departing campus by 11:00 am.

Junior-Senior High Bus Riders:

Students will board the buses in the lane directly behind the school.  Students may exit the building at the doors under either set of staircases (one close to the cafeteria or one close to Mr. Frye’s classroom).

Junior-Senior High Parent/Guardian Pickup:

School buses will be picking up students in Grades 7-12 behind the high school.  Please be patient and wait for the buses to depart before attempting to drive in the lane and exit campus.

Elementary Student Pickup (Grades PreK-2) – See Image Below:

Students getting picked up from school in Grades PreK-2 will be dismissed to the FRONT of the elementary school. Drivers should plan to enter the middle lane (see image) and proceed to the lower parking lot of the high school. PreK and Kindergarten cars should proceed to the bus lane and head toward the student loading area. First grade and second grade cars should form two lines in the lower parking lot of the high school. First grade cars may begin to file behind the PreK and Kindergarten cars as room becomes available. Second grade cars will follow the first grade cars in the bus lane as room becomes available. To avoid backup on Mitchell Road, please try to avoid arriving earlier than necessary.

Elementary Student Pickup (Grade 3) – See Image Below:

No change to dismissal plan.  Follow your regular routine by lining up in the bus lane.  Please do not arrive earlier than necessary (no earlier than 3:20 pm) as we anticipate a full parking lot and driving lane with PreK-2 pickup.

Elementary Student Pickup (Grades 4-6) – See Image Below:

Students getting picked up from school in Grades 3-6 will be dismissed to the FRONT of the elementary school. Third grade cars will follow their normal routine by lining up in the bus lane. Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade cars should plan to park in the lower lot in front of the high school.  Staff and security will supervise students as they walk to their vehicles.  Please do not arrive earlier than necessary (no earlier than 3:20 pm) as we anticipate a full parking lot and driving lane with PreK-2 pickup.

Elementary Bus Riders (PreK-6):

No change to dismissal plan.
