On the evening of Sunday, February 16th, the mariachi music was playing as over 190 young men and their guests of honor – mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and special guests – for the 4th Annual PTO Mother Son Event. This event is part of an effort to fulfill its mission in supplying additional moments and experiences for the students and teachers of Neshannock Memorial Elementary School.

Several areas of the elementary school were creatively transformed into the “Nacho Average Fiesta” for the special event. Not a single detailed was overlooked, which is no surprise since the PTO began planning for the event back in November under the guidance of event co-chairs Mrs. Danielle Pacchioni and Mrs. Amy Daugherty. They cited numerous volunteers — too many to name — as the reason for the event going so smoothly. Mrs. Sara Wilson spearheaded the food committee, which served a taco and nacho bar by El Canelo, Lovie’s Cookies, cake pops by Pop It, and slushies!

The craft committee organized stations for the boys and their special guests to create personalized memory books and mini-piñatas! Clark’s Studio donated a photo booth for some fun photography, and Jan Sumner volunteered her time to capture the moments with her camera throughout the event! Faraone Brothers DJ Service played their favorite songs as the boys played a variety of fiesta games, such as Ultimate Tortilla (frisbee golf), Tortilla Toss, Sombrero Sink, Cactus Catch, and Guess the Hot Tamales! There was definitely a little something for everyone!
Many thanks to the PTO Officers — President Mrs. Wendy Hutchison, Vice-President Mrs. Joslynn Tatterson, Secretary Mrs. Richelle Paglia, and Treasurer Mrs. Ginger Ponziani — and countless PTO volunteers for hosting such a memorable occasion for our students and families. We have no doubt that this highly anticipated event will continue to grow year after year!
